すでにご存知の方も多いと思いますが、
先週末、ドイツ・ニュルブルクリンクで行われたVLNのレース中で、観客の方がお亡くなりになる悲しい事故が起きてしまいました。
また自分が乗る予定だった日産GT-Rが関係する事故だったという事で、とてもショックを受けています。

お亡くなりになられた方のご冥福をお祈り申し上げますと共に、ご家族、ご友人の方々へ、心よりお悔やみ申し上げます。
また怪我をされた方々の一日も早い回復をお祈りしております。

僕がモータースポーツを初めた頃、常に危険と隣り合わせというイメージがあり、母にすごく反対された事は今でも忘れません。
しかし近年のモータースポーツは、安全が最重視され、車両側もサーキット側も安全性が非常に向上されていると言って、母を説得しました。
だから、大好きなモータースポーツを通じて、人々が悲しむ出来事が起こる事は、一番辛く悲しいことです。
みなさまも同じ気持ちだと思います。

今回の事故を受け、ドイツでは、GT3車両を含む、ハイスピード車両のニュルブルクリンク北コースの走行を、事故原因を分析し、車両側の安全面の対策が万全となるまで、禁止としました。
主催者団体は、この事故の原因究明と安全対策について話し合いを重ね、日産/ニスモはこれに全面的に協力を申し出ている事を発表されました。

このような悲しい事故が二度と起きないためにも、モータースポーツの安全性のさらなる向上を願うと共に、今後、モータースポーツを愛するすべての方が、そしてその家族が、安心して、楽しめるモータースポーツになることを切に願います。

「VLN 1」に関するステートメント

3月28日にニュルブルクリンクサーキット(ドイツ)で行われた「VLN1」で、日産車(#23)が関係する大きな事故が起きました。

車両はフルークプラッツと呼ばれる場所でコースを離れ、フェンスを越えて観客エリアにルーフを下にして落下したと伝えられています。

この事故で数名の観客が負傷され、現場のレスキューチームが至急の手当を行いましたが、そのうち一名の方がお亡くなりになりました。負傷された方々は病院に運ばれました。

ドライバーのヤン・マーデンボローは車両から降り、サーキットのメディカルセンターでチェックを受けた後、更なるルーティンチェックを受けるために病院に運ばれました。

この悲劇に私たちは大きなショックを受け、深い悲しみを感じております。お亡くなりになった方とそのご家族やご友人に心からお悔やみを申し上げるとともに、けがをされた方々の一日も早い回復を願っています。

チームは早急かつ徹底的な調査を行うべく、レース主催者に全面的に協力しています。

「VLN 1」レースに関するアップデート

3月28日にVLNレースで起こった事故の後、けがをされた二人の観客の方が退院されたと聞いて私たちは安堵しています。ヤン・マーデンボローも一連の検査を終えて退院しました。当然のことながら、マーデンボローは事故について大変心を傷めています。

車両はドイツ当局によって管理されており、私たち日産/ニスモは調査に全面的な協力を申し出ています。

日産/ニスモの関係者全員が亡くなられた方のご冥福を心からお祈りするとともに、ご家族に改めて心からの弔意を表します。またけがをされた方々の一日も早い回復を願っています。私たち日産はまた、関係されたファンの方々、チーム、そしてヤン・マーデンボローに対する皆様方からのサポートに深く感謝しています。

I think already many people know that, I was very shocked and saddened from last VLN's incident.
My thoughts are with the injured spectators and the family and friends of the deceased.
I hope motorsports will make more safe from that sad incident.
And for the future, I hope people loves motorsports and their families can be enjoying motorsports in peace.

Statement

During today’s ‘VLN 1’ race at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, a serious incident occurred involving the No.23 Nissan.
The car is reported to have left the track at the ‘Flugplatz’ section and vaulted the catch fencing, landing on its roof in a spectator area.
Several spectators were injured in the incident and despite immediate efforts one of them succumbed to their injuries. The others have been taken immediately to hospital for care.
The driver, Jann Mardenborough got out of the car and, after initial checks in the circuit Medical Centre, has been taken to hospital for further routine checks.
Today’s events have been a tragedy. We are all deeply shocked and saddened by these events and our immediate thoughts go to the deceased, those injured and their families and friends.
The team is fully co-operating with the race organisers to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation into this incident.

UPDATE

After the terrible events during yesterday’s VLN race, Nissan is pleased to have received information that the two injured spectators have been released from hospital. Jann Mardenborough has completed a series of medical tests and has also been released from hospital. Naturally he is very distressed about the outcome of yesterday’s accident.
The vehicle has been impounded by the German authorities and Nissan has offered full cooperation in their investigation.
Everyone at Nissan would like to again extend their deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased and to the spectators who were hurt. Nissan would also like to thank everyone for the support they have shown for the fans involved, the team and for Jann Mardenborough.
